Nice!

How will you find it on a dark night ;):D

NICE ONE ALAN!!!! Nice car! Who did all the trim in body coulour?

Think you may be right about the dark wheels. It's the same thing I found with my car when I was thinking of buying those wheels. The black shiney wheels suit lighter coloured cars, like red/silver etc.

I think the wheels of my works would look cool but don't know how to photoshop them

I'll do it if you want. Just need similar side profiles of both cars. email me the two pics and ill do it quickly to give you a rough idea of what it would look like.

The car is smart but the wheels need to be silver in my opinion:)

Nice motor, and i like the wheels, looks different which is good.

OK. I'm gonna be different. I actually like the whole look - wheels an-all. It just "works", no pun intended.;)

MINI's are about individuality, and you've made that car very individual, and I think it looks cool.

Bright shiny chrome wheels would have worked also, but I like the black wheels with black arches, black body and black roof.:D

To finish it off, stick a set of JCW brakes in there. Just to set the black off slightly.:D:D

Lovving it...

AndyP

And just to avoid any confusion, this is AndyP, not Lenore. Lenore's not sure about the black wheels either.;);):D

Very nice, one thing to make the wheels stand out is to have red calipers to match the S logo on the side repeaters

Yep, so that means either a nice set of JCW's  AP Racing or Hammerite :approve:

Interesting..... Will Hammerite stay on calippers? They must get pretty hot.;)

I like that Fi! I don't normally like black wheels on a black car but I think they wheels might just work if there was a big fat set of Works calipers peeking out from behind them. :)

P.s Heh...I made this comment without reading down past the first post. I can't believe I agree with BS about something!!!! ;)

How many minis you had now??

<sobs> Fi/Alan - that looks soooooperb - I think the wheels look great. If it was me i'd:

De-Badge the boot
Paint the Side Repeaters Gloss Black leaving the 'S' in red
JCW calipers - in Red as BS/Col said
Paint the Chrome Surround to the headlights gloss black.

Then it really will look mean!

Yup... It goes on nicely too!
I did the calipers on my Cooper with Gold Hammerite (yeah, I know.. sounds Boggin'), the car was Pepper White, with tinted Windows, and it just set the rest of the car off nicely! :p:D

I'm liking the black wheels too.. could maybe do with a polished lip to break it up a bit tho..

Those black wheels just make that mini growl like a 8) TIGER!

looks mint!! love the all black, complete stealth mode:D

i agree with red calipers, but what about white or clear lights on the rear (brake, fog and cliusters). i reckon that would be a good contrast n look pretty kool!!

Stick with all black, leave the calipers standard.

Less is more.

The Dogfather
9th November 2005, 04:09 AM
Fi, I'd go with the comments about chrome rims to break it up a bit, they would really set the car off. This photo posted in another thread shows what I mean........

The red calipers would be good as well ;)

Pure Black is beautiful, never thought it would look sooo good !!

Scottie

Thanks Paul but I just could nae put chrome wheels on. Leaving these wheels on mean time.
I do have normal JCW wheels and Hamann wheels up in the loft will give them a try next.

We want the same wheels that are on my mini but the plastic card is stretched to the limit at the mo.:(

Got a price of £60 to paint front and back calipers. Not sure though.

Interested.;)

Where did you get that quote from? Can't afford the JCW brakes but always wanted red callipers. Had no idea they could be painted.

You can paint them yourself with Hammerite or special caliper paint - will cost you a lot less than 60 quid

Car looks great Alan :D:D, just glad I've not got to clean it (memories of Black Betty, come flooding back). A discrete "Stealth" logo would look good.

How about red leather seats and carpets?

AndyP & Lenore

If I painted the callippers without even trying I'd get it on the:
discs.
pads.
bodywork.
enginehousing.
my hair.
my arse.
the hair on my arse.
the steering wheel.
the car seats. (both) (probably transfered from my arse);)
the ground.

oh. and some of it might end up on the callippers.

Best not to go there. :D
