Nothing beats trying a few places yourself as it depends very much on individual circumstances. Some folk have recommended Confused.com for getting quotes although I have always found them to be absolutely useless.

Actually Confused.com have come up with the best quote so far. :D I just thought someone here might know of a really nice cheap place for specialist 4 x 4 insurance.:D:D

I reckon it's a X5 or X3:cool: can't be anything Land Rover as they would not "Land" there built here are they not. Mind you the Clue could be in "Land" so it might be a RR.
Might be a Touareg:D

Nope. Not tellin.
The "Land" bit was just a turn of phrase for a car coming into the dealer - which it just has. Not necessarily any reference to the vehicle being "shipped" from abroad. :)
And just to put the kybosh in Craig's plans, I've just memo'd all staff to say "that phrase" has been changed! :D:eek:;)

Can you do me a favour if you get time - try getting a quote directly from the company that Confused recommended and see how it compares with the one obtained through Confused. I'm interested in where they get their cut! I usually get about 2 sky high prices from them and a recommendation to phone their partner companies directly. Don't know why this is but it's a real pain!

I got an email from Dial Direct (the insurer Confused.com found to be cheapest) with all my details, so they must have passed those details to Dial Direct for them to email me - presumably. But what confuses me a little is that Dial Direct is an intermediary also, just like Confused.com is. Strange. The details are at home but I am pretty sure Dial Direct is stating the underwriter would be N.I.G. Weird set-up.

We've been the same with confused.com for the past 3 years or so, they always find the cheapest prices for us! This year I'm insured with Diamond and when I went to them directly, they were actually dearer!! Plus, when I changed from the mini to the evo, I got money back!!;):D

As it happens I've managed to get a fantastic deal from "More Than".
That was lucky.....:D:D
Sorry, had to.
