I read with interest of a local rule that has been used for the first time here in Montrose
In order to curb the car ned culture in Montrose the police now have the power to impound cars if they catch anyone in the act of driving illegally :p
There is a fixed penalty to pay of approx £125 to get the car back, for every day the car is not collected a storage charge of £12 is applied

Been doing the same in Kirkcaldy Esplanade - applying ASBOs to them. So far one car has been confiscated as part of a glorified PR stunt - since then - nothing!
