Filled up at Tesco Corstorphine with this last night - the pump said 97RON - I thought it was supposed to be 98RON - or did I imaging that?8)

I had heard that super is 98 (usually) but 97 RON can also be called super in the UK.

No doubt someone will correct me (SC?)

As an aside, when the 99RON stuff comes out later this year, anyone know what will it be called? Tesco's Jet fuel?

normal unleaded is 95 ron so anything above that is super

BP is 97 ron and Optimax is 98 ron that's why folks stick with Optimax.

The majors do have 100 ron but only supply to say Greece why Greece who knows.

Here is a thought. Optimax is more expensive... But I have been told you get better fuel consumtion using Optimax on a standard cooper? Therefore you will be better off using Optimax, lower running cost and faster car?

Please corect me if I am wrong. Never tried Optimax but thinking about it.
