I was out looking for signs of the aurora tonight and saw these very fast circling spots of light in the North, just like UFO's :eek:
I think what I was seeing was:

Light Fantastic is a search light spectacle created exclusively for Horsecross. Celebrating the launch of the Concert Hall, powerful beams of light will sculpt the air above the city, creating a beacon visible from far and wide. Marvel at the pillars of coloured lights piercing the sky, dancing with the clouds, creating amazing shapes and forms. Enjoy the lights radiating from the copper-clad dome of the concert hall each night during our launch week.
This unique spectacle is the work of lighting designer Simon Wilkinson whose critically acclaimed designs have graced theatres, concerts, opening ceremonies and state visits throughout the UK.
