Need some help. Is it possible to get a connection.

one end has that has the flat type socket that goes into the bottom of the ipod with two leads coming out from it

one lead going to the car charger and the other lead going to the a aux socket ( needs to have a end like as if it was going into head phone jack socket)

There are a range of connections such as you describe. I have the monster charger where you plug the aux in to the "large connector" on the iPod. Gary has the Belkin which does the same job but has a slight volume booster. Having experience of both I would go for the Belkin. Sure the man himself will be along in a second with his opinion:D

Fi, what you describe in your first post allows you to charge the iPod, what you can do is simply buy a mini stereo patch lead that has the same male end (ooer :I)
It has a head phone jack on each end, you simply plug one end into the iPod head phone out socket and then insert the other end of the patch lead into the aux in from your head unit.
Select the aux source on the head unit and press play on the iPod.

It's a simple solution, but, if you need to charge at the same time, then you'll have to consider something else.
The battery life of the newer iPods is such that you couldn't drive as far as the battery without a stop for a recharge :)

Also, looking at your link, i don't know if you can charge and play the iPod at the same time, you'll have to ask the manufacturer, or wait for Gaj or Macblob :approve:

What you want is one of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00011PH3I/qid=1126203640/sr=8-10/ref=pd_bbs_10/202-2269057-5859055)http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B00011PH3I.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
and one of these. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005UP6P/qid=1126203776/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_3_2/202-2269057-5859055)
I also have one of these. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000225F0G/ref=pd_sim_ce_dp_2/202-2269057-5859055) http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B000225F0G.02.TZZZZZZZ.jpg

The charger has a built in pre-amp with a female mini-jack socket in the ciggy lighter end so you can connect the patch lead from that to the aux-in in your car so all you have to connect to the ipod is the dock connector on the bottom. The wee holder in the last picture fits perfectly in the cup holder and has wee mouldings to hold the cable from the dock connector in the first picture. All adds up to a nice cheap wee set-up!
