Has anyone else tried Google Earth? (http://earth.google.com/)

Its a big download, 10MB, so for those on 56K, have tea while its downloading, but its a great toy!

Sorry Mac'ers its not availabe for your OS (yet)

Almost very similar to a very expensive piece of software our Geography dept use... although that one has a bit more detail. Not bad tho is it??? Have to chuck that on the pc in the house!! :D:D:cool::cool:

Very good... Not too hot on Blairgowrie though!!!

Good detail of Paris where we went on our hols last year!

Was reading online today that someone over in the States was using Google Earth with a map overlay to let a family friend know her house in New Orleans was still above water! Cool! :cool::cool:

It's got it's uses y'know! :D:D:cool::cool:

We used to park outside the police station (hubby has the purple porsche) so he might have spotted the car on his way to Tesco!!;):D

Only some areas have high resolution images taken... mainly the US.

try zooming in to Compton or South Central Los Angeles!!! :eek::eek::eek:

Yeah as LnL says most of the hi res stuff is in the US. There is a thread (http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98478)on Mini2 where people were zooming in and finding minis in car parks and listing their locations
