Just thought i'd share this wee gen with you guys!

Renewal comes in from Halifax for B&C insurance - 4years NCB £291 excluding home emergency cover.

Checked the web Esure £211 incl HE cover
Churchill £284 incl HE cover
Norwich Union £296 incl HE cover

then........

Halifax Online......wait for it......£196 INCLUDING home emergency cover!!! £100 cheaper but with £40 worth of additional cover!!!

Phoned Halifax renewals to see if they can drop the renewal price to match - sorry no-can-do but then our online policies are much cheaper so feel free to take out that policy!

I got my car insurance £140 cheaper than the renewal that was sent to me, just by phoning up!

Last year I got my insurance quote for the now departed Granda. The guy at elephant said that if I added my (at the time) fiancee, that would save me money, then added 1000 miles a year for milage in association with my main job, and saved more! Cant understand it, but I'll keep on doing it! :p
