Paul, sounds pretty good. Are you thinking about this as a summer or autumn run? Is the 18th/19th June off as a potential date (darn it got off work AND childcare organized all for the same weekend :p:p:D. Couldn't figure if it was the date, the run or just the timing of it that was unpopular.

Superb looking run Paul :p:D
Very interested. How about Sunday 19th June?, or 25/26 June (is any one actually going to the INMM?). Or July 2/3 or 9/10?
I'm busy most weekends in Aug / Sept

(An this is my 1000th post! - only taken nearly 2 years!)

Hi Paul. Been away for a long weekend including the Thistle run - you missed a cracking run there. August pretty busy but I could manage 6th or 7th.
13th is Scottish Mini show (is NMS having a stand?, needs booked in adavance) , 14th is Craigs run and 27th /28th is British touring cars at Knockhill - this could affect how many other folks would be interested.:D
Cheers :D

Sorry I can't make this one - already signed up for Craig's trip and no spare weekends left!

I was just up past Applecross this weekend, on the way up to Scourie & back. Fantastic roads - there's a brilliant bit of road if you turn right (I think) coming out of Kinlochewe going South - roadworks at the start, but it turns into a 'Le Mans' track a couple of miles down the road. It eventually links up with the Loch Carron road. Don't think it's one you're using, but unbelievable, like a newly surfaced race track in the middle of the Highlands!

Have a great run - roads just don't get better than this!!!!! Watch out for the Sheep/Bikers/Hikers/Caravans though.

The Dogfather
29th June 2005, 07:16 AM
Elfman - That's one of the roads we'll be taking :D

Oh Dear... Remember you have to SLOW when it gets narrower! Use discretion.... you lucky people.

Seriously though, these roads are brilliant - I'd forgotten HOW brilliant, but don't get carried away - you never know when the local Constabulary or wildlife will appear. Just jealous - I wasn't in the 'S' last weekend, and I REALLY wished I was - the MINI's perfect for these highland roads. Enjoy yourselves - but no 'V-Max' attempts!!! Right, away to polish my halo (needs 'Aralditing' first...)

Wish I'd known, I'd have gotten out of bed early and looked out for you. Hope you didn't feel like jumping off cos of the delay in your new car??

For info paul, if you ever do the route, there are garages in, if memory serves, Skaich, Brora and Wick that all do LPG. They are all shell aswell I think. None in Thurso as of yet, cos we are always behind the times!
