Anyone else been chewing up the bulbs?

Dont know if this is normal, ive had my mini for about 7 months and have had to replace, 2 front fog light bulbs, 2 dipped headlamb bulbs, 3 sidelight bulbs, 4 brakelight bulbs and 1 indicator bulb. Is this normal. I had my alternator replaced about 4 month ago but still chewing them up.

Apart from changing for brighter aftermarket bulbs I havent had to change any since I got the car in 2002.

Just to add the fog light and dip beam and sidelight its always the driver side that blows. The brake lights just take turn about.

Not normal especially since you should almost never be using your fog lights ;)

I didn't replace any bulbs in the 23 months/25k miles I had the MINI.

Get your charging rate checked, sounds like the car is overcharging should be 14 volts

well i had to (sorry, Sleepy had to) replace one of my headlight bulbs and now a sidelight has gone......thats enough to get me complaining! lol

1 Stop Lamp replaced on my old One after about a year.

Only one headlight bulb replaced in almost 2 years.. and it was a Philips Vision Plus one that went pop..

So driving in the dark I still had as much headlight power as the standard bulbs!!! ;);););):D:D:D:p:p:p

In my 2 MINIs, i've only replaced 2 tailight bulbs.

Are you driving over exceptionally bumpy roads and/or have done something to your suspension to shake them to death!?

Nope standard suspension and not bumpy roads just. Just doin the same sort of roads as i did with my Classic Mini, only had one or two out bulbs in it.

Had my COOPER for 2 years, and the S for 1.5 years, and no blown bulbs in either. Changed my Main Beams to H7 Osrams few months back for better light, but no probs.

Dealer Time again, I think. Hope you get it sorted.

Past warrenty dont know if i can afford a dealer visit!!
