Manual Air Con

Howdy Folkes

Anybody had this issue with their Manual Air Con.:I

I'm getting an occasional sort of motor hum which lasts for about 3 seconds at the same time i'm getting a drop in engine revs of about 100 revs.:eek:

This is happening about every 30 - 45 seconds.

My dealer thinks it may be the compressor.

They have done some checks but want the car back on Thursday to do a thorough check.

It only does it with the air con on so is defo a air con prob. (that line sounds like it could be from a Meat Loaf song:D)

Sods law it didn't do it when i went out with the technician.:mad:

Any pointers as to were they should be looking.

Is it when it's idling :question: as the air con sooks a fair bit of juice to work

Does it all the time when its doing it.

But more noticable at idle or slow speeds probably just because the ambient noize is lower.

The technician says that the electronics should increase revs a little to compensate for the compressor kicking in.

I think this linked to my coughing cruise control issue i had a while back.I'm not able to test the cruise control arround here, there is'nt a road straight enough to do a proper test.
