power steering pump

just had car serviced for the first time at jcs abdn ,no probs with service or jcs but had 2 have a new power steering pump fited as the old one was leaking ,only done 8300mls in 18 month has anybody else had this prob

Its a common fault - i have had two replaced under warrenty.

I had one. Clouds of black smoke belched from under m y bonnet when mine stopped working, took the alternator down too with it!
