Best car I've ever driven would have to be an Aston Martin DB9 convertible prototype (only 5 ever made so far)!! Rear view mirror was screwed into a bit of wood and the rear side windows were held in place with tape, but besides that!! It was alright!!;):D:cool:

Heyyyy... there was nothing worng with it at all!! I loved that wee car! :D It was bright and fast! Now what was it... Vw Race/rally Yellow! :D The colour of yellow the new Mini should have been! :D:D

The orange Clubby was great too... put a new Floor in it and a couple of A- panels, new set of wheels and a set of arches, polished the head, new valves and valve seats, and sold it for a 200% profit eventually! :D:D

Aye we have to wear that ever so stylish colour, right enough.
Colour of the year, although I think the year was 1976.

Your right enough about bad football teams, but Rangers dont have that orange top this year.

Remember that United play in Tangerine :p

Still get the urge now to buy another one brian - there's nothing like the smell of burnt synthetic two-stroke clinging to your clothes:I

Nothing beats the "throb" of a mighty 4 stroke:approve: Beats a "ring-dinger" every time;)Brother had a Ducati 748 for a few years, truely awwwwwwwwwwsome machine. I remember turning down a KH750 Kawasaki triple because it was too thirsty - DOH:I :p:D:approve:

euan
20th April 2005, 12:09 AM
On a slightly unrelated topic, but I just don't know the answer - how thirsty are bikes? What sort of MPG do you get out of them?

And another thing - how do you keep them clean? Power hose? hand wash? Do people wax bikes?

Can you spot the person who knows NOTHING about bikes?

Big Gordy
20th April 2005, 12:30 AM
Welllllllllllllllll:approve:
It depends on what you buy really:I
Sports bikes ie R1's, ZXR's, CBR's, GSX's and the like all rev to about 14500rpm which means 9 times out of 10 your thrashing the pants off them = about 20 miles/gallon:eek: On the other hand tourers like BMW's, Honda's, Harley's, Triumph's and the like tend on the whole to rev less = 40+ miles/gallon.
There is a whole range of cleaning producs out there for the bike just like there is for cars;) I generally clean my motocrossers at the local jet wash before I take then home. The missus would kill me if left all the mud in the driveway:blackeye: :p:D:approve:

Big Gordy
20th April 2005, 12:39 AM
My dads got a Honda C90 step through thingy that has a 90cc four stroke engine in it that gets over 120 miles/gallon:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Only problem is any self respecting 'biker' wouldn't be seen dead on it:dead: and the handling is terrible:dead: which is slightly better than Bazthemods scooter;):):I :p:D:approve:

Don't laugh - I thought of getting one to combat London traffic.

Binned the idea as I don't have anywhere to keep it at home bar the street (where it would get nicked) and also - I wouldn't want to mess up my hair :)

Back on Topic ;)

Since 1970:

Austin 1100 - £50
Singer Chamois - upmarket Hillman Imp - £120
Mini Clubman Estate - £750 - Bank Of Scotland wouldn't give me a loan for it, never forget that.
- Married and got a brand new car.
Honda Civic (the first model when they were good value) - rusted away in 2 years despite Ziebart.
Mazda 323
another Mazda 323
Citroen ZX - Mazda were getting too expensive now
Renault Megane - wife still got it
MINI Cooper

As you can tell I tend to hang on to my cars for a few years

Wife has had 2 minis, Fiat Panda, Citroen AX and Saxo and now has the Megane.
