Was anyone else dissapointed with the start of the Touring Car Championship today?

I know that they changed the rules a few years ago to make it cheaper, but I remember the glory days of the 90's when there were at least 10 manufacturers, privateers, famous names (Derek Warrick, Nigel Mansell) and John Cleland was given Vectra's that bent when he tries to corner with them!

Today watched it and it was basically Vauxhall 'v' Seat 'v' Honda! A bit boring if you ask me.

Mind you I might still go to Knockhill for the rounds on 28th August. Never been to a real race so I'l go and see if it makes me change my mind about the BTCC. Anyone else going????

Lost interest a while back in the BTCC, but remember the 1990's well.

Volvo Estates on track were fantastic, but I'll never forget Tarquini rolling his Alpha Romeo at Knockhill, that was a sight.
They even used the clip on the trailer for Grandstand for a few years.

Yeah I remember the Volvo 850 T5 Estates. Apparently the Swede's got confused with the translation and thought that it was the TOWING car championship!(BOOM BOOM) :D

And the arguments when ALFA put a spolier on their cars cos they fitted brackets to the boot lid on the production cars, and Williams running the Renault team... Those were teh days me friend, we thought they'd never end................. Sorry Brotherhood of Man moment there!

We were at Knockhill today and Cleland jnr was racing in a Cooper. Had a real "ding dong" with Neil's mate Vic Covey jnr in the second race of the Cooper series. Freezing cold as usual, but great fun. Was anybody else there??

Always liked the touring cars and still do although 12 car grid was a bit small. great racing still just a lack of cars. Well worth going to Knockhill to see them "Live"

Yeah I seen all the B&B's but I just got this thing tht attending a race meet mean that you should camp. Kinda like the guys at LeMan who camp at the track side.

I watched a lot of last season on TV and it wasnt too bad, it was the first time i really paid attention to what was going on, however the Australian V8 racing series is far more interesting than the TOCA IMO. Where else can you get amazing drifting action, apart from the Japanese GT, but they are mentalists anyways.

If you don't have a season ticket, parking on site will cost an extra £10, but you will have to book in advance for it, you can save a fiver on the entrace as well by booking in advance.
Otherwise its a park and ride bus service. :)

I hate to be an anorak again but it was the front splitter that everyone complained about on the alfa because it was adjustable back and forwards by about 40 mm or so
