Replacing Dash Light Bulbs

Anyone replaced bulbs behing the heater in the dash. It is the bulb beside the control for where the air goes, (to the windscreen, feet etc) if so whatis the easiest way to go about it, I have heard that the heater unit comes out just like changing the stereo but havnt looked into as havnt got a torx set in aberdeen. Any advice would be helpful,

these conked out in my last MINI and i whacked it with the back of my hand - they came back on, and stayed on for 2 years...
