Heh...
My first car was a Vauxhall Chevette!! Cost all of £200.. what a heap of poo!!
Every other car I've had has been a Classic Mini except the new one!
...And the Honda Legend I got while I was waiting for the Mini to be delivered. That was a beast... H reg, 2.7i v6 Auto, full leather and electric everything... 141,000 miles on the clock... £200!!!!! :D:D

Mark 2 1.3 Golf - in standard form it was gutless - I put GTI wheels and shocks on it - it was still gutless but at least i didn't have to slow down for corners :p until mr primera wrote it off changing his cd whilst driving and crashed into the back of me at 60 when I was stopped behind a car turning right!!

Ford Escort 1.4 ghia with 100K on the clock. Gearbox was somewhat vague, steering didn't have any feedback, it didn't like corners and I could have pushed it up hills quicker.
It had one redeeming feature, I did flog it for more than I had paid for it 2 years and 30,000 miles later :)

2 votes for the Maestro folks. Had just bought my first flat & my Y reg Mini died (MOT). Purchased an A reg BEIGE Maestro 1.6L from a friend who had had it from new. P!sh to dive but it gave 2 years sterling service & that included being stolen twice (bugger kept getting found again though - & I was gaggin for the insurance money!)

A beige Maestro :) I remember that exact colour. I mean, who decided on beige as a car colour? You never see a beige Ferrari :)
It was the talking dash version I remember most though.

Don't think I've owned a car that was 'bad' (IMHO anyway:I) Only one that comes close would be a 5 door 1300 Metro City X that I had but even that wasn't too bad 8)
Looking back though the one I should have kept was my MK1 RS1600 Escort..........works arches, minilites, competition exhaust ahhhhh I'm going all misty eyed just thinking about it:I I also thundered about on a Laverda Jota motorbike around the same time so its suprising I'm actually still here to tell you about it:eek:Them were the (scary)days lad:p:D:approve:

My current Fiesta is pretty cack, it handles well enough but the interior and poxy 1.4 diesel engine make it really snoresville, mind you it probably doesn't help that the other car on my driveway is the cooper.
Other than that my old audi A2TDI was terrible for reliabilty but the car itself was pretty good 65mpg, nippy and handled great!

My first three cars were all 205's but I think the one with the tree imprint in the front could be classed as the worst! (I've still got the Mi16 though, STILL can't bear to part with it!) but I've still got my 325 E30 sitting in a field with a family of mice living in it!:sleepy: That was a good car until it locked me out! It's de-locked so I had to rely on the remote, that was until the electrics went on strike!! What fun breaking into your own car while it was parked outside a police station! No-one batted an eye as Rob swung a bit chunk of metal at the rear quater-light!!:p:clown:

we had a Yugo. try and beat that. How many of you have had to sell your car back to a garage due to a civil war?

Not the worst car I've owned, but the worst I've been in was when I was in Romania last month - some kind of Dacia. The wiring was taped to the roof with electrical tape, the seats were awful, it had no window winder (just the stump) and the driver had a baseball bat down the side of his seat....

Based on number of faults? My previous MINI!
Based on amount of rust? 1989 Mini
Based on ability to not lose a wheel when driving into a railway bridge at 40mph? MX-5
Worst car driven though - a Hyndai Accent hire car in North Carolina - truely dreadful. It could barely move forward when the aircon was switched on...

[/quote]That's just reminded me of a Nissan Bluebird that I hired on Islay (buiness trip) years ago. That was truly awful to drive , the steering was SO vague.

Worst car wasn't mine - my Mum had a Suzuki SJ413 (Tip-over). With a Rhino in a deckchair on the spare wheel cover....
It rattled, leaked like a sieve, was cold & draughty, had no soundproofing whatsoever, and despite being the "bigger" 1.3 engine, couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Wouldn't go, wouldn't stop, wouldn't steer. And the automatic choke kept going for about half an hour after you started the darned thing!!!!!!
You can tell I loved it, eh? Worst thing I've ever driven. What made it even more unbearable was that I used it while my car was being repaired for 2 weeks after an accident! :I

Truely awful 1986 Ford Escort estate 1.6 Diesel - hated the thing but as a student I thought it would be cheap to run - WRONG - cheap on fuel but expensive on fixing faults!
I managed to roll it and buy a Nissan with the insurance money :D

Ditto on the Ingliston racing - main problem with my Imp was the clutch failed the day after I bought it, then one of the rubber donut drive couplings went.
Only after I bought the car did I discover that the previous owner was a coal merchant and must have used it to carry the sacks of coal as it was absolutely black inside!

Hey 3GGG do you remember the mini's and the imp's racing against that big Ford Falcon thing:I it was enormous:eek: About the same length as 2 mini's and an imp put together;)
Sorry folks got a bit sidetracked there from the main thrust of this thread8) Carry on :p:D:approve:
