Hi y'all

Being a little cheeky but I'm needing your help deciding on a short list of (suitable ;)) flicks I could recommend to a client for viewing at an exclsive private hire screening at a local cinema for approx. 75 adults. A comedy is preferred but not essential...

So, what movies would be make the top 3 spots on your "All-time Best/Classic Movies Ever" list?

NB: remember I said suitable for a client night out so no "Debbie Does Dallas" recommendations please! ;)

Cheers

The Italian Job - the original one!!!!

It depends if you want a long film or not, or a recent release, and if its an older film, its harder to get a print of it.

The UGC in Dundee ran a series of "Take Two Tuesdays" which was a series of classic older films.
I saw Back to the Future I, II and III, plus 2 Indiana Jones.

Also, recently in the UGC on the Kings Road, London, i saw Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, they also were showing other older movies later on in the month.

Its hard to narrow so many good films down! I started a list and ended up with either too many chick flicks or ganster movies!

Keep 'em coming please!!:)

Cheers Duncan - I looked at a few lists like this but it just made narrowing my list down even harder! :) I might just send your link to the client to decide! :)

Ok, if pushed for a choice of 5, i'd go for these, in no particular order:-

Back to the Future - Classic movie series. Part 2 is my favourite, 3 the worst

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - covers most bases, some women go for the Harrison Ford factor, but the comedy between him and Sean Connery is brilliant, plus the action is pretty good.

Some Like It Hot - B&W classic comedy

The Bourne Identity - Move over Bond, heres the spy movie for present day

About A Boy - Decent Soundtrack, and token chick flick ;):p

The Dogfather
1st March 2005, 07:13 AM

Ooooh! Nice choices Gaj, very classy. Personally I thought Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow was the best of the series. Oh, and they only made 7 of them by the way ;) (Oooops.... I've said too much now, haven't I?) :I:clown:

I take it Disney or Pixar films are not to be included, which doesn't leave me with alot, so here goes!

1) Gladiator
2) Austin Powers - Goldmember
3) City of Angels

My personal opinion is I don't think you could go wrong with Gladiator although Goldmember is a good film for watching pre-pish up, gets you giggling!!;) C of A is the token chick flick!!;)

UPDATE: My client picked the following three films as options for attendees to vote for the film they wished to see at the cinema at the end of their teambuilding day - selection is made via a personal voting keypad thingy (Who Wants to be a Millionaire? style - "Ask the Audience" and no, they cant phone a friend!) and the most popular film voted will be screened:

1. Shawshank Redemption
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Shrek 2

...not a bad mix!

Cheers to everyone who contributed - very much appreciated!!
