Hi, lm thinking about buying myself a red Mini Cooper, my g/f got a red Mini One and now l want one for myself.
The car lm thinking about is an 02 reg, 30,000 miles, 17 inch alloys with runflats, black roof with twin sunroof, the car looks in good condition and is for sale at £11,995
Do you think this is a good price for it

I could sell you my cooper for that.

Its 2 years old 35,000 miles
Pure silver/black roof
Aero rear spoiler
Its got 's' bumpers,
17" wheels,
Sports plus suspension
Sat/nav
chili pack,
Alarm,
Xenon headlights
Playmini exhaust

I also have the original bumpers and wheels and the exhaust too.

The car is in getting a full Valet and when it comes back I was going to be advertising it for sale.

Was it in a Mini dealership? have a look on the Mini cherished site to see how it compares:

i'd say it was a tad expensive if it's not got the chilli pack!

lm afraid it has to be Red with a black roof for me, the only colours a mini should ever be.

its at the Renault garage in Livi

The most obvious ones are :-

Rear spoiler,
16" alloys - unless options for 17s,
At least half leather Sports Seats, might have full leather as an option

Theres lots of other items as part of the chilli pack tho.

Quick scoot round mini cherished found a few around the same money, most had lower mileage and one (at menzies in Dundee) tay . Although very few had a black roof.

It's seems overpriced, we paid that for a cooper 6 months old 8k. Didn't have chilli but did have sports suspension and pepper pack.

It seems way too expensive to me. It is 3 years old so coming to the end of the warranty. You could get a much newer one with that spec in a private sale.

LOADS available now check this:
Autotrader (http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/cars_search.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=MINI&model=COOPER&min_pr=10000&max_pr=13000&postcode=eh9+3hj&miles=200&max_records=50&source=1&sort=3&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH)

Just spotted that it is in a Renault dealer. I've seen the odd one in a non-MINI garage and they always chance their arm with the prices. You may of course get a good discount of them though.

So what would be a good price for it, will check out autotrader before l go up

A good price?

If it is a MINI with CHILLI, 17" wheels and sunroof it would have cost ~£13.5k new - remember this car is approaching three years old so would have been at the launch price I wouldn't pay more than £10.5k for it personally.

When you test it watch out for faults that were problems on early MINIs particularly trim rattles, a clicking steering collumn when you turn it slowly, squeaky seats, rattling dashboard etc.

Also ask if it comes with the TLC service package, there should be one free service remaining if it does.

You don't want a MINI at all then  Even my ONE with 15" tyres was a bit jiggly.

Try a Citreon 2CV :p

The car Tam has just now has 50 series tyres on, he thinks there must have been something wrong with it as the steering was very heavy at slow speed turning

I'd recon on it being worth about 10,500. Depends on the exact spec on it though. Oh one other thing, Red Coopers should ONLY have white roofs :p

Tam1314

Black roof only for me LOL

If the wheels were 17" Runflats then it would feel quite heavy at slow speeds. Stick a set of "ordinary" wheels on and there is a remarkable difference. Also non-runflats improve the ride quality tremendously.

See the MINI Cooper for sale in the "For Sale" section. Only done just over 5300 miles on an 04 plate and it is £13,150. I am sure the price will be negotiable and you can get a painter to paint your roof with the saving!!:D
