Insurance company advice needed

Hey folks

Just a quick question, do any of you guys know of/about any specialist insurance companies for high performance/modified cars and/or for yound drivers??

Julz, are you with a specialised company or am I imagining things?

I seem to think she sings the praises of Adrian Flux, and i've also heard that Liverpool Victoria is also good for modified cars.

For high perfrormance, unmodified, try Privilege. They were the cheapest when I had my Ashtray GSi, and were ok when dealing with a claim, although i didnt like their choice of approved repairer.

I'm also with Adrian Flux. FANTASTIC service :D. i had problems getting confirmation of no claims discount from my last insurer and THEY took up the fight for me. They have also covered all my mods and I think the price is very reasonable. I couldn't praise them enough.

Anyone willing just to say what they have paid for insuring a cooper S, l was quoted £531 fully comp by the C.I.S
interested to find out what a 'works' costs as well

I got quoted about the same from First Alternative and I'm just a wean at 26. I thought it'd be far higher. :)

I'm about the same, just over £600 fully comp, 6 years no claims, but I do have a London postcode. Oh, and I'm 28. (although, it's only for another 38 days. Not that I'm in a panic about nearly being 30. God forbid)

I'm stunned that Big C got that. Where do you keep the car? Fort Knox?

My S is SW London and I'm only 600 quid with Esure, although I had to blag a bit. They don't cover an S unless your 30, but I'd been with them a couple of years so they did it anyway (with the cheery quote "Your 27, close enough")

900 thats a horrendous price for a 41 year old on a works - my dad insures an x5 4.8 for 240 a year fully comp- im a grand for my cooper at 20 with 8 points and only 2 years no claims not bad i think from tesco!!!

I'm 42, so obviously not in the 'young driver' category, but got Fully Comp, Protected No-Claims plus an 'all Modded bits replaced like for like' cover from Adrian Flux for £453.00 with £250.00 excess. They really know what they're talking about and were very efficient too.

Royal Bank were going to sting me for £620.00 with a RIDICULOUS £450.00 XS, and the Specialist Mini Insurance folk (in 'Go MINI' mag) were £585.00 (both without the replacing modified parts cover).

I'd give Flux a shout.

I've been trying to get Jackie (Mrs Bad Dog) insured on the MINI, she has no no claims and no company would touch the car once I told them about the modded bits. I eventually got a quote from Diamond which was only £24 more than the unmodded quote I had from my own insurers who were very cheap.

I got a fantastic quote for my modified S from Greenlight (http://www.greenlightinsurance.com/), got an even better one by ringing them up rather than using the online quote engine Try them on 08707 53 54 55. All mods covered for replacement in the event of an incident.
