Idler pully?

Is there an idler pully on all makes or are they only on the cooper s?

I have this strange sqeel when the car is on idle, the last time I had this the dealer replaced a pully/tensioner but I can't remember what the called it any ideas:question:

I could be wrong :I but I think the idler they are all on about is just for the belt to the supercharger. The only other idler/tensioner in the engine will be for the cambelt;) So I think the 'S' is the only one with an Idler as such :p:D:approve:

I don't think Mini petrol engines have a cambelt as they are chain driven (like the classic mini :D)

Thats usually what causes a squeal cos the belt is loose / slipping, maybe just needs adusted or cleaned?

back onto the thread, it is probably just your alternator belt slipping in the cold/damp weather.

Take it back to the dealer AGAIN :p

My dealer is in Aberdeen so that would rather expensive
