Have you looked at some of the other ones they are selling - wonder if it really is the NSPCC as stated in the ad

personally i agree with you bad dog as something doesn't seem right.

FOR INSTANCE- if the seller doesn't want the hotamil account any more all he/she has to do is cease using it for a period of 90 days and the account will be deactivated. Plus hotmail is a free e mail service so the seller is making money out of it which i personally deem to be morally and ethically wrong

check out the bottom of this page MSN Auction for the NSPCC (http://www.msn.co.uk/newhotmail/) - appears it is genuine after all

I've heard that people that bought up names like pepsi,cocacola,ect.com made a fortune when the internet first started. Sounds like a great plan to me! :D

Random fact: Did you know the most visited website in the world is porn.com, even though it's run by two brothers from a garage in New Mexico and has nothing what-so-ever to do with porn. They just bought the name for a laugh to see what would happen :p

Hmm...must admit it all smells a bit whiffy to me. Why would you want to buy it anyway, why not just make another one like jamesbond1@hotmail.com??? or JAMESBOND@hotmail.com??? There's absolutely no ethical reason for buying it and the person who does is a bit daft with more money than sense. But that's just my opinion...

try and get james bond 1, 2 ,3 4 or any combination of numbers and they will all be taken!!!! Its just the novelty of having jamesbond only. Why do folk buy personalised reg plates at £50,000. It's because they want to have an exclusive number. Its the same idea with hotmail. If they have the cash to spare then go for it i say. At the end of the day, it's for charity Frizzie.

The only charity she's interested in is knicking my laptop at the weekends for that bl**dy MSN chat thingy

No ethical reason? What do ethics have to do with it? It would hardly be unethical to buy it. Now had you said no logical reason that would have made more sense. Sorry but BDM gave me a new title...

In case you haven't noticed Ross, this thread isn't actually about MSN so what was the point in mentioning it?
I know it says it's for charity but as Maxxed said, how do you know they're not just saying that to get more money? It still smells a bit whiffy to me...
