Since i was getting a CF bonnet, it'd make financial sense for myself if i did a group buy.

Basically i have a company in Derby ready to make me a CF bonnet, most likely an S bonnet.

I need 6 group orders minimum which would bring the price of the CF bonnet down to around £600. Thats a full £395 cheaper than the CF bonnet Lohen are advertising.

Also, this bonnet comes coated in scratch resistant coating and doesnt fade in the sun. They are also able to add pigment to the CF to make it match the colour of your car.

for myself to do a one off, it'd cost me just over £1000. The company involved have experience with F1 and currently specialise in making parts for Ducati and other super bikes.

If you are interested then please let me know. I'm definately getting one, but would be better to get a group buy to keep the cost down.

If you have any questions then let me know and i'll pass them on.

Have you thought about putting this on MINI2 you might get more than 4 more orders.

Forgive me for asking this but say if you get 10 or 12 orders would it be even cheaper? i've never been involved in a group by before:)

i could get more orders and it would be cheaper if i put it on mini2, but i'm always wanting things kept limited, more unique, especially if these guys are willing to put colour pigment into the CF to match peoples cars.

And Julz, he did indeed :) hehe

What are the benefits of a cf bonnet? Just looks of is there a performance advantage from weight reduction?

KJ,

I need to know if they are lighter than the standard 'tin' bonnet before I can consider it. Are you able to ascertain this at all?

cheers

they are lighter i'm certain. I've run into a problem however, they need a donor S bonnet, which i dont have before they can make the mould and start production. where do i find someone that has a spare s bonnet sitting doing nothing? :(
