Welcome to the site Matt, you might want to go to the introduce yourself section and "Introduce Yourself". Glad to see that you are already planning what you can do to your car - you will definitely fit in round here ;)

With regards to retro fitting the factory sat nav - I would imagine it would be possible in theory (in fact I know it is cause a guy on Mini2 did it , with bits from scrap cars), but I would imagine it would be extremly expensive to do, both in terms of parts and labour.

I'm sure some of the glasgow contingent will be in soon to recommend a good installer in your area - but it isnt too hard if you want to try it yourself, there are some instructions here Removing the stereo (http://www.newministuff.co.uk/changing_the_stereo.htm)

A good site to buy adapters etc from is Mikey the Mini (http://www.newministuff.co.uk) - his site also has lots of DIY instructions for changing speakers etc and some really cool gadgets!!! :D.

Good luck

Yeah but your query should be in "general discussion" or "mini mods , faults and fixes" and one of the mods will probably be a long soon and move it :D

Ahhhh another Glesga punter , go on the Weegies. All the best with your new car when it arrives , I too went for the MC & since 07/06/04 have loved every minute. Picked the car from Henry Bros & to this date everything has been perfect apart from one nick on one alloy (but hey that was my fault) What spec have you gone for & what garage did you opt for ?
