Have you had a quote from your dealer. You'd be surprised how much chaeper thay are than the tyre specialists like Kwik-fit etc. I was on my way to Dunedin to get 2 slow punctures repaired when I met you the other day. If the tyre was beyond repair they quoted me £102 for a 17" runflat compared to National who quoted £180!!!!!! Thankfullt both were repairable for the princly sum of £15 each!

Nice one Monsta, i was just trying to get some prices as the car is due a service in 800 miles so im going to hang on and get the tyres then. If u got quoted £102 for the 17" rims from dunedin thats no bad at all, should be 90 ish for the 16's

Phoned Dunedin for tyre prices

There part dept quoted me £87 quid and some pennies for a 16inch runflat supplied and fitted :D

so looks like ill just be getting them to do the tyre when the car is in getting serviced.

I take it that was the price for Goodyears?
Did they give you a price for Dunlops by any chance?

Also interested in the 16" Dunlop SP runflat prices here. Aren't Dunlop and Goodyear the same company nowadays? - though I read on MINI2 that Dunlop runflats can be repaired but Goodyears say they should not be repaired if punctured?

Aye that price was for the goodyears, im afraid i have no idea about the dunlops.

Are they meant to be a better tyre, grip , wear etc?

I thought it was Pirelli and Dunlop who were the same company:question::question:

I had my Dunlop repaired, at Hi-Q, (3 Nails removed, ouch) but I don't think they had a clue if there is advice on repairing runflats.
My One came with the Dunlops fitted as standard, so i'd just keep with them.

You might very well be right Julz - I was just suprised to read somewhere that two of the big tyre companies were the same company.

I have the Dunlop runflats so must check out what they cost.

Dunedin use Kwik-Fit Mobile for their tyre fitment - it's a bloke in a van who comes to the dealer - may well get a better price going direct - but then again maybe not. Think my work have an account with them so may try phoning direct when it comes to new tyre time!

£87 for a runflat 195/55/16 is a great price! happened to go into a kwik and check prices of a standard type tyre at that size and none of them were below £100!

Just got my new goodyear 16" runflats fitted at dunedin today.

£204 incl vat for 2 tyres supplied and fitted.

Not to bad a price i thought.

One wee nick in each wheel though, very small but still annoying:mad:

Ohh well now that some metal polish has been on them i cant see them too much!!!:)
