NMS Castle Run Sunday 14th August

Hi folks, we're planning a Castle Run for Sunday the 14th of August.

Setting out from Abington Services, the plan is to enjoy some lovely roads en route to Drumlanrig Castle before returning to Abington Services through the Leadhills and surrounding countryside.

Start Time & Location: 10am for a 10:30am start at Abington Service Station, ML12 6RG.

Lunch Stop: 12:30 at Drumlanrig Castle, DG3 4AQ

End Time & Location: Around 3pm, Abington Service Station, ML12 6RG.

Total Run Distance: 102 miles.

Yup, M74 northbound was a nightmare on Fri afternoon when I was driving back up from Wales.

Just a heads up for folks - there's road works on the M74 just now as you come through Hamilton with average speed cameras. Should be ok in the morning but might be a little congested on the way home for anyone passing that way.[/QUOTE]

Thanks again to everyone who came along today. Your patience when things didn't quite go to plan was greatly appreciated. :yes nod:

Despite the hiccup and the brief, unplanned visit to Boghall Avenue, Laura and I very much enjoyed ourselves today. The weather was lovely, the roads (for the most part) were nice and clear and it was great to have so many MINIs in the convoy. It was a real treat to lead from the front and watch all the MINIs in my rear view mirror as we swept through the hills.

A special thanks to William as well for being the official camera man today.

Yes Ali and Laura thanks for a great run my self and the kids both loved it grist to be back out in a mi I after so long and yes this one's keeping it back seats as think we have 2 mini run fans as well [emoji3].

Many Thanks Ali & Laura for a FAB day out, been ages since I’ve driven the ELFmobile as it’s built for - I thought I’d forgotten how! Great to see everybody again and we were blessed with excellent weather to go with those roads - which I’m sure were built with Minis in mind! Wouldn’t be the same without your traditional detour Ali, and we did end up in somebody’s driveway - the Duke of Buccleuch!
