Octane Show 18th June 22

[MINI William]

The Octane Show is a "modern car" part of the Sir Jackie Stewart Classic held at Thirlestane Castle on Saturday 18th June. The Jackie Stewart show covers the whole weekend but the Octane show is on the Saturday only.

Club entries are due to open soon, I have no idea if there will be a limitation to stand numbers etc, but will inform when I have more information.

It’s a new show for NMS it looks quite exciting and could be something we attend annually with the added benifit of being within a few hours travel for most.

Update 7/6/22
Finally have some info about entering the show but not all the info, still unsure about what gate we go through but I believe that we'll need to go via the A697 as they keep congestion away from Lauder itself. Meeting anywhere close to Lauder will no doubt be mob’d so can I suggest that we meet at Eskbank P&R EH22 3FR,There is a Tesco, Gregs and Costa for anyone needing Brekfast or a caffeine shot) and travel down the A68, hopefully allowing us to meet and convoy relatively quietly. Time wise how about we meet 0730 for a 0745 departure allowing us to be there for 0830 allowing for us to queue to get in?

I’ve had a confirmation email that we’ve been accepted to the show and that we’ve been given 15 car spots. They have asked that each club buys their tickets together. Drivers tickets are £5 and the advanced passenger ticket is £10 (no idea what the non advanced price on the gate is).

Can I ask that you let me know how many passenger tickets you’ll need (Under 12’s are free) and that you send me the money. This will then allow me to buy the tickets and get everything organised. After tickets have been purchased we will sadly be unable to refund money if your unable to attend, we will however try and fill your place to recoup your funds.

I’m more than happy to start a reserve list if there is enough interest but places will be given on a first come first served basis.

I’ll send everyone a PM with payment details

Yeah Google Maps doesn't seem to recognise it as a place yet, there's a map on the first post of this thread that shows it in relation to Tesco etc

Some last minute cleaning supply’s so you can do little bits at the show such as tyres, trim etc, a camping chair if you have one, some pocket money as there’s always stalls and some patience and a good sense of humour

Thanks to everyone that came along today. What a fantastic show, great to see some lovely cars going about. Nice to see Sir Jackie and JayKay along work some other famous faces. We had a terrific looking stand and each and everyone one of the stand was a credit to the club and their owners.

Agree the display looked really good and the run from the meeting point had a great look too. We were about tenth in line, so was really good to see the Mini's ahead and in the rear view mirror - quite special.

Did anyone manage to follow up with the BVAC regarding the 'win' for the Van? We were just pulling out of the slot when 2 guys in a mini tractor arrived to inform us that the van had been selected as a 'winner' but no other information and the Van was already gone. Did not have a phone number to advise anyone.

Agree with Kirst, got the red look this morning but more wind burn probably than sunburn.

Great show and nice wee blast down from Fife. Sat felt like a bit of a warm up for Sun's big classic gathering. Early departure came as a bit of a shock though when Sam and I returned from grabbing a coffee to find a deserted display area.

Pleased you both enjoyed yourself. Gemma let me know of a possible win for the Clubman but still unsure of what it may or may not have won, I've emailed the organisers to try and find out. As above we've never left a show early and thought we'd got round everyone of the early departure.

I heard the Abarth Scotland got 4th & the Scottish ST owners club got 2nd..
