You can imagine it.....you get a new 'buggy', wait the inevitable length of time for the new V5 to come through from DVLA s oyou can assign your new 'shorter version' plate on it.

The day comes, the V5 is through, you feel like you wanna dance a jog outside in the rain!!!!!

Undo the standard plates looking forward to branding it with your very own reg......... but then you realise some half-wit prev owner has somehow ignored the factory pre-drilled holes to assign a plate, and drilled two holes, one either side of the plate mounting area, through the actual body of the boot...........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrr.

Any ideas how to fix?

Thanks

Need to be a bodyshop to fill the holes or a new boot. They’ll start to rust if you don’t do anything. I’d speak to the dealer you bought the car from and see what they can do for you.

Been to see my pal at a bodyshop £200-£300 to fix, or I put normal plates on.
I can also seemingly look into vinyl type 'plugs' to cover the holes too.

Have emailed the dealer where it came from for their response.

I’d still be worried that if they aren’t filled and painted that they will rust. Even with putting plugs in

I would continue to peruse the dealer that you bought the car from. There’s nothing that Menzies can really do as you never bought the car from them and someone incorrectly drilling holes in the boot to fit a number plate won’t be covered under the warranty.
