Car is booked in to have its oil/filter and brake fluid change carried out next week, and I thought Audi were expensive for dealership work ! [emoji2960]

How much is the first? I’ve always had TLC, they’ve now done away with it but didn’t think a service would be all that.

It’s not great is it, but on the same hand not horrendous

Sadly I’m tied in to the dealer for servicing whist it’s a leased car, if it’s a keeper it’ll be going to a good indie

If that's not horrendous .......... :thud: ........... I'm missing something! WTF!

To put this into context (for yer average punter) I've just had the R50 MOT'd, independently

Work done :
New fuel tank strap
New NSF wheel bearing
ABS sensor & clear codes
New alternator belt (my choice, as getting squeaky)
Service - oil, filter
2 brake pipes replaced
Top strut mount replaced
MOT

£646.37 inc VAT (labour £182.25)

Exactly, main dealer prices of course!

II just hope that includes VAT

Can you imagine the cost if I'd gone to MINI for service & MOT ........ WOW!!

Treble it!! ..... (or write the car off ....... unthinkable)

Yeah that’s would be a heart stopping bill !
puts you off any long term use of main dealers, I get I don’t really have a choice whilst it’s leased/pcp but I didn’t expect that price !
a decent indie is the way to go if I keep the car

If that's the cost of new car ownership then 'bugger me'

Do they still do TLC servicing packages?

MINI done away with TLC last year and have opted for a pay monthly scheme for servicing.

I don’t recall TLC being an option during the discussions for the car tbh

TLC was still offered then, I’m 99% sure

Not something I recall being offered, there was talk of a service plan iirc

Would have been a one off payment of a few hundred pounds.

I think there was talk of a service plan and that it didn’t save much from just paying at each interval so maybe

Out of interest is this model dependent & how much are we talking?

No it’s the same for each mode so doesn’t matter if it’s a ONE, D or JCW. It’s around the £15-18 per month I’m sure. I never took it for the GP as with the mileage it’ll do, it would make it more expensive than just getting it serviced.

£15-18 pm doesn’t sound too bad tbh. What does that cover? All required standard services up to a certain age/mileage?

It’s not bad at all Mark if you use your car enough to meet the mileage requirements of the servicing but for me with the GP I don’t/ won’t use it enough to warrant the £432 it would equate to (based on the £18pm)

Ah so the servicing agreement would last two years I see. Can you extend it? I guess if I had a GP3 I probably wouldn’t justify spending that either. I’ve done 100 miles a month in 0636 for the last 18 months.

Honestly couldn’t say Mark. I only looked at it enough to make my decision and then left it there. I would imagine that it could be extended but don’t quote me on that.

Had the car in for it’s service today, £314.42 without vat, items listed as being done on the invoice are :

1: Standard Service Scope: £22.47

2: Engine oil service: £155.37
Set Oil filter
Castro’s Oil 5.24 ltrs

3: Microfilter Service: £74.53
Microfilter

4: Brake Fluid Service: £62.05
Brakedlu500

5: Vehicle Health Check £0.00

My question, what is the standard scope cost and microfilter service cost?

I think service scope is checking for service errors and reset service indicators, the micro filter service is the cabin/pollen filter

That makes sense, they could have been clearer what they were including when I booked mind you
