Wondering how many mini drivers here are in their late 60s and beyond, been around a few car dealers checking out used minis for a future purchase next month.

Wife in mid 60s thinks she's too old for a mini which why she reckons a clubman would suit her age group, im 69 so I told her that's daft. Got her off the idea of a countryman as it seems most are 2.0 diesel. Personally I prefer a hatch between 1.5 &1.6 but I'm starting to get my way :D:D

So back to my first questions how many mini drivers here in their 60s and beyond?

In my early 50’s and bought a Cooper SD auto hatch. It’s very quick and economical (unless in fun mode). £20 tax. I use it as my daily driver and love it. Had a Countryman before and hated it. I thought the gear ratios between 1st & 2nd were terrible.

Hope this helps

I've always seen the minis as an ageless car. Perfectly suited as a first car or someone well into retirement.

In my 50s and got a hatch and Clubby.
Love them both for their different characteristics.
MINIs are timeless and I don’t think it matters what age you are to have one ... or two !

Age is merely a number. Buy what you like, do what you like, don't give a stuff about what anyone else either thinks about you or may say about you. They don't matter.

I bought my Cooper in 2004 aged 40. I'm 55 tomorrow & still drive it like a 25 year old (at times ).
I reckon if one brand brings the youth out in you it's MINI :thumbs up:

I’m in my early 50’s and I drive an R59 JCW that looks like it’s owned by an 8 year old.

I do have an R53 GP (1499) parked up in the garage and that looks like it’s owned by a 6 year old.

It’s not owning a MINI, or any specific car for that matter, that defines your age it’s how you think and feel.
Owning a MINI will not make you physically younger but I can definitely promise that it will help you feel a lot younger. If you saw what some of us acted like when we get together you’d think that we were all teenagers that had been on e-numbers for a week.
lol
As a car on its own it’s a great way to help you feel younger and keep you smiling but it’s the people you meet whilst owning one where the real fun is at.

I'm nearly into my late 30's and been a Mini Owner since October, I now question myself why I never had one sooner when I was twenties. As someone says it does bring out the youth in you again, it's ones of these cars that puts a smile on your face everytime you turn the key or push the start button! When I've had a rubbish day at work the Mini always makes me smile, its my happy place!

I’m now in my early ‘50s , having gotten hold of my GP1 in 2014.
I made contact with NMS on the Glencoe/Oban Run of 2015 and have never looked back!!!![emoji4]
