I might be getting a 2002 cooper s.
What is the easiest way to get more power out the car? It is going to be a daily driver & the odd track day so only looking for about 190/200bhp. Is this possible?
Cheers

Fairly easy tobget a bit moor power out a R53

Air box
Smaller pully 15% or 17%
Intercooler just helps with the extra heat from the pulley
Exhaust manifold and cat back

And you should see around the 190bhp

Air box mod you can do your self.
If you have facebook have a look there lots of how to do it your self.

Or get a pre built one from orainge.

Site sponsor B and M will be able to supply and fit pulley

Lots of different mini tuning places around to get parts.

I like Mod a Mini the guy is very helpful

As Rob says our site sponsor B&M can carry out any work that you need ,many of our members can testify to Douglas and his team’s work .

As folk have said it’s relatively simple to get reasonable power out of the R53 for what I would say without spending loads of money.
I’d start with a GTT strut brace every time on the car makes such a difference to the handling and stops the top mounts mushrooming at the same time.
If I was to do one again I’d sort it in this order
Brakes / lines / fluid
Supercharger pulley
Crank pulley
Air filter
Exhaust
Manifold
Intercooler

Last one I had made 226bhp without a manifold, injectors or remap and I used it as a daily.

Ask questions and spend your money wisely ... the R53 has been around for years now so there’s no need to waste money on it that’s been done by others in the past.

Happy hunting ....

Awesome
Cheers for the help and advice folks.
Brakes was one thing at the top of the list. That is really good power out just a few mods. I'm sure that would bring the car to life on track and the daily commute.
