Running rich after decat install

For the people that fitted decats, did anyone else have an issue with running rich and extra petrol smell coming from exhaust afterwards. I realise I should have a remap after putting on the decat pipe, but need to purchase an oversize intercooler before I remap. Hoping that will happen soon (still got some xmas money squirrelled away).

You don’t need a remap or a bigger I/C but they would help so don’t be put off
