I'm looking for advice, and I know a lot of folk on here are south of Edinburgh so I'm hoping to lean on your local knowledge, as I'm not hugely familiar with the area - only really know the A68.

I'm planning a car club trip to the Jim Clark museum later on this year, probably September and I'm looking for a decent hotel in the Melrose-Lauder-Duns area that has secure parking, or at least decent, secluded parking. Budget fairly flexible, don't want somewhere ridiculously expensive but equally don't want Fawlty Towers or a Travelodge either.

Any ideas folks? Looked at Dryburgh Abbey but it looks to be booked for when I was planning

The Townnhouse in Melrose is very nice and does nice food. I'm not sure if they have a car park though.

Just to finish this off, in case anyone stumbles upon this thread or was desperate to find out where I stayed

I can thoroughly recommend the Chirnside Hall Hotel - lovely little place with fabulous food, and close to Duns. Also, you need to visit the updated Jim Clark museum - an impressive tribute to Scotland's greatest ever sportsman.
