Hi, with doing 12,000 miles a year for work and with the horrendous winter last year I decided to buy a mini as a daily driver.

Bought an 03 Mini hatch with 53,000 miles on the clock and a full MOT which I promptly had serviced.
Problems with battery, so replaced.
However I have problems with "stuttering" in low gears, sometimes I have to dip the clutch it can be so bad. What I did notice is that after charging the old battery and fitting the new one, the problem would disappear for a while. Does this sound like a possible MAP/MAF issue? (Am I right in thinking these cars have a MAP, not Maf?)

Thinking of changing it and found this, https://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/Mini_Hatch_Map%20Sensors.aspx

Can anyone comment if this is the correct part and if so is it simple to fit?

Also the car has a very tedious surge/drone between 60-70mph, think I may have read somewhere this is exhaust sound?

Sorry if these subjects have been covered.

Welcome to NMSland :saltireflag:

Can't say I've suffered any of the issues you describe, I've got an 04 R50 Cooper with 81K
Would suggest you get a local independent (like our sponsor B&M MINI) with diagnostics to investigate in order to resolve :thumbs up:
