June 10th Run

Not too many details on this yet until I’ve had a chance to check the route, but it’ll be Sunday the 10th of June and the intended start and end point at the moment is Abington Services ML12 6RG.

There’s a chance I might make this a picnic run, but will depend on route and more importantly the weather!

Just a quick wee reminder of this in less than 2 weeks, hopefully the weather holds long enough.

Went out and scouted the route yesterday, will get run notes up but in the meantime:

Abington services
Leadhills
Forest of Ae
Moffat
St Mary’s Loch
Meggets & Talla Reservoir
Abington services

Lunch stop will be at Moffat, this’ll give folk the choice to either walk into town (5 mins) or picnic by the river or in the park across the road.

Majority of it’s on good clean roads, A/B as well as some single track stuff.

St Mary's Loch to Talla is one of my favourite roads especially the view as you drop onto the reservoir. Very jealous.
Training some Scouts for their Gold DoE Canoeing Exped on the 10th, otherwise we'd be there too.

Looking at a Run start time of 10:30, so if people want to aim for Abington around 10 that should be fine.

Run notes will be up either tonight or tomorrow, weather is looking good for the Sunday at the moment so if folk want to picnic they can, as I said there's a nice park over the road from the car park. I suspect it might get busy on a nice day so any tables they do have will be in short supply so maybe pack a picnic blanket.

There's a Co-op near the park if you want to buy lunch there instead of bringing it with you.

There's also rumours going round there may be a birthday cake or two there as well, no candles of course, with the amount we need it'd just be a fire hazard!

Thought the roads where a nice mix, bit of single track stuff with some faster B road bits in there as well.
