View Full Version : What did you do to your Mini today?

I got a notice on Friday saying my coilovers have been shipped so I got a head start today and pulled the OEM stuff off.

Pretty cool the way the rear top mounts are held in with being bolted from the underside, never seen that before, saves pulling the boot trim out.

Floating Mini and e30 table haha

What have you been doing?

What coilivers did you got for?

Looking forward to a project thread in the gallery showcase.

KW V1’s figured I’d try KW’s as I’ve heard good things but never owned some.

Just intercepted them from DPDs depo...

Off home to get them on.

Not planing on doing enough to the mini to warrant a build thread though...

Got JCW KW’s on the wife’s 210 that are a variant of the V1. Really like them.

Did you need to use spacers on the front for clearance? Not had it out for a blast yet but there is only a ball hair of clearance on the front wondering if it’ll scuff

Rear needs up a bit but I think the fronts will be fine once settled.

Spacers shouldn’t be needed. There should be an indent on the strut as to where the wheel would sit next to the strut. I’m in Munich just now or would post a picture

yep I did spot the indents, they are the opposite side from the key way.

Should be all good then. I was just sticking my fingers round the back of the tyres so it’s pretty hard to tell, need to just take it out.

Today I went out to the garage. There's still a cover with a Mini shaped object under it so I assume it's fine.

The R56 is starting to reappear now the snow is melting off it

Is the R56 under the big pile of snow on Main St?

Richie, if you get time could you get some more pics up please so we can see how this looks :thumbs up:

No :hand: but it's not far off being a Countryman-sized pile!

It's disappearing again under more snow now...

Few sneaky pics, I was just away to take it out for a test run but all the roads are flooded so it’s getting a shower in the drive. Still it’s low enough hahah

Thinking a rear spacer is needed as the offset looks pretty weak

or washed away last night.

Looking good there, and just noticed you've started the beltline too.
