Seen this mini on my beat a few times and its puzzling me what this is on the bonnet scoop.
Any ideas? Been looking out for the owner so I can ask but never there when I go past.

Pretty sure its a turbo not SC so no top mount IC. Just can't work it out. Car is in Bathgate in case it turns out to be someone on here. They've recently had chrome spotlights fitted to the grill as well.

Photobucket no longer allows you to share photos unless you pay. I can’t see your photos either. I would suggest the likes of Flickr

Could it be an electrical connector for a battery trickle charger ?

Can't see the pic as stated above but assuming it's an R53 we're talking about it's not a battery conditioner connector as that would be on the battery itself in the boot.
Deer whistle maybe? Those of us who live rural have them

Seen the pic now - does look a bit like a charger connector but would be madness IMO to have those cables strung across the top of a hot engine. I've got CTEK connectors on 3 cars and I'd have the cable coming up where the tax disc used to be. The cables aren't that long.
I'd guess deer whistle

I think you might be right about the deer whistle. It looks exactly like this

Think it is, we used to have them on our cars, but not in that position. Never knew if it worked, but we didn't ever run into a deer!!

Aye, not something you can tell if it works or not!
We have ours in either the bumper grille area or brake ducts. I wouldn't put it somewhere like that in the pic, sticks out like a sore thumb IMO

Maybe that’s so the deer can see it if it’s deaf...

By the state of the car, it looks like he might have fitted the whistle too late [emoji15]
