Myself and Pete Morgan would like to nominate William Harper for The M.M. Oscar.
William took over the running of New MINI Scotland in 2014, and thanks to his dedication, and hard work, N.M.S. has gone from strength to strength year after year.
New club sponsors have been found, more members have joined, with a few active overseas members and N.M.S. has won various national awards (M.M. Club of The Year 2014, Best Club Stand M.M.M 2015 and Best Club Stand B.M.S 2014).
Even a few local charities and events have been supported.
Nothing is too much trouble for William. If you need a hand with deciding on, and fitting, a new part or mod to your car (or repairing something that's broken), he's always happy to help be it over the phone or in person.
He has previously owned four R56s, including a GP2, and he currently owns an F56 JCW, and an R53, so his love for the MINI brand is clear to see.
10 years ago, almost to the day (14-04-2007) William picked up the MINI that started it all, a Chilli Red R56 One.
It certainly wasn't the last Chilli Red MINI that he would own and it did start off a passion for the brand that would still be with him 10 years later.
As William's love for MINI grew he also convinced others to join him in the MINI family, shortly being joined by both his Mum (Christina Harper) and Dad (Brian Harper) as being proud MINI owners. Little did they know that less than ten years later they would take over the ownership of New MINI Scotland making it a true family run club, will all NMS members an extended part of the close knit family.
It didn't take long for William to convert his then girlfriend, and soon to be wife, Megan Harper into the MINI fold as well, a Cooper S Countryman was soon added. It seemed only fitting that the cars formed a central part of the ceremony when they where married in July 2016 at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel, with the bride walking down an aisle formed by friends and families MINI's, with of course their two cars taking pride of place at the front.
Thank you William for all of your friendship, hard work, endless loyalty, help, advice and laughter.
