Stripes or not

Hi folks


One of my bonnet stripes has some scratches which I can't remove so I'm thinking of replacing or removing. If I decide either way the old ones need to come off so.....is it a hairdryer (borrow the wife's as i only ever use a Gillette razor) and peel with a good machine polish to clean up or is there another way ? If anyone has any pictures of black FJCW without that would be helpful.

Any thoughts.....?
