Hopefully someone can help. While fitting my induction kit today we've discovered an oil leak which appears to be coming from a sensor on the top left (drivers side) of the engine. Anyone else experienced this?
As always help and advice is appreciated
Cheers

The top left sensor underneath the stock air box.
Im certain its the Vanos solenoid that lives there. A picture would help mate?

Will try and get one, cars in the workshop and I'm at home now. If it is that, is it an expensive fix?

Yeah it appears as though its coming from either the Vanos solenoid past the rubber seal.
The timing chain tensioner is also near the area of oil but judging from the photo it does look as though its coming from the solenoid.
Its not an expensive fix. Just req removed and the seal replaced. I would then clean the excess oil from the engine and run it unto temperature to confirm the faults fixed. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help guys, plan was to replace the part then clean it and see how it went. We just weren't sure what it was lol

Just had a quick google search for the vanos solenoid. Everything points to that being on the front of the engine. Mine is leaking at the back
Just checked an online parts site. It appears the pictures I saw were of a cooper and not an s as they're in different locations

You have two solenoids one inlet at the back and an exhaust one at the front

Thanks again
