There has been some interest as some of you will know about a coffee/cakes and cars meet in Aberdeen. I had been hoping to organise it but if I'm being honest, it's been a really busy few months.

So, over to you guys in the North East. Any good locations that you think would be suitable for having our first meet. It would be great if we could see this become a regular monthly meet as there are so many Mini's up here in the North East we really should be making a better effort to socialise more and stand awkwardly in car parks admiring each others cars :D

Let's throw a few ideas together and see what happens. My initial thoughts was is it central? Do we have it just outside Aberdeen like Westhill, Alford, Stonehaven etc etc or do we go for somewhere like Dobbies on the Lang Stracht? Perhaps the location could change and we all take turns in organising the next one? I've had loads of success with a networking group for my work where a core group of 8 of us meet every month to discuss work and collaborate for ideas and we each simply take it in turn to organise dates, meeting place and that's it really.

Ill happily make an effort to organise the first meet. If anyone interested could make them selves know i will start a list and start contacting businesses that will allow us to use their facilities.

I use Mains of Drum for FOC meets, and the GT Scotland guys use Treehouse at Midmar. Decent parking at each, and nice places.

Tried Dobbies once and was paranoid about the old biddy driving - remember one of them managed to roll their cars there...!

Formartine's near Haddo, and Goodbrand at the foot of the Lecht also both good but quite far from town

If you make it a bit further south you may have the chance of some of us from the central belt to come as well like perth area ??

Id like to see how the local c&c go first. But my plan was to meet halfway in the future for all the people not in the north east.

Inverurie was my initial thought for the first c&c. Gunna start contacting businesses on monday

Morning Peeps,

My wife used to work for the SAAB dealer here in Aberdeen, this means she still has her old contacts in the motor industry. The current list is:

Kenway Tyres
Autospray
Dingbro - (parts)
Murison Motors (for servicing and MOT)
Reids (parts)

There will be more, she's just had a brain freeze at the moment.

It's just a thought, but if you do manage to organise a meet, I could try and arrange for some of the above to attend and get discount for the club. Perhaps one of the companies would let us meet at their premises.

Let me know your thoughts

Kind Regards
Kev

Would definately be worth asking. Ive had a few dealings with kenway and they are excellent. Along those same lines euro car parts aberdeen might be a potential location.

If they are interested in sponsoring the club, please let them know to get in contact with myself and I can cover off what NMS sponsorship involves.

Right folks, looking to get this back on track for those of us in the North East. I know Mark was looking into venues but with him being laid up I'm happy to take this one over.

To keep it simple, why don't we simply pick a weekend in February and an easy to get to location such as Mains of Drum as suggested by Gordon or even go slightly south to Stonehaven or Brechin? Can I get a show of hands for who's keen for a coffee and a blether and preferred location?

Mains of Drum or Treehouse works for me, Brechin starts to get a bit far away

I would vote for a coffee run at this time of year, fish and chips when it gets a bit warmer

Chippy run to Stoney sounds good for when the weather picks up. We'll start off with a coffee and cars meet first :)

That would be a decent shout for another time - they're closed for the winter until 26th March.

It looks like I'll be away in Portsoy with my daughters fitba on the 11th but any other day I should be up for it.
