Hi, so im not new here but i haven't owned a mini for over 5 years so i haven't been active.

Im going to look at a 2002 R53 today. Its going to be a project car as it needs a bit of cosmetic work that i know of.

Is there anything i need to look out for in an R53 aside from all the general car stuff?

Thanks in advance

check the clutch, check the discs as these get driven hard, ask if the supercharger has been serviced these have there own oil baths most are low or empty of oil . The tailgates rust quite badly as well

Cheers, I hadn't even thought of the supercharger!

Just took a look at your for sale thread. Looks like a nice car, I might have interest if the one I see today isn't any good.

What's the mileage and your location?

Hi, thanks and i bought the car.

It needed a new front bumper and bonnet, but there isn't many 70000mile cooper s for under £1000 so i thought it was worth the chance.
