So the R53 has been in the garage for a week for a rattle in the engine bay diagnosing (not timing chain related thankfully)

Thought it was belt tensioner so that got replaced, had phonecall today saying supercharger has no oil!!!

Looking like a rebuild if its far gone.

That's unlucky... Mine was found to be low on oil a while ago and got a change of oil and bearings at the same time [emoji2]

Gutting. I thought I had the worst of lucks with my R53.

Supercharger came off today, but still waiting for the garage to ring. The car will live again but its annoying getting no info from garage!!

It is frustrating that's for sure but the way I look at it I'd rather have them working on my car than on the phone. A wee update usually keeps us happy though ... Fingers crossed no news is good news [emoji106]

I have serviced 3 superchargers all all were very low on oil and 2 had no oil in 1 of the ports

Ive been informed today its low on oil. But seeing as its off might aswell get it refurbed and possibly a 15% pulley fitted aswell

Update: the rotors in the charger had too much play in them, the company can rectify thankfully so having a 15% pulley fitted along with new plugs, belt and idler pulley. 2 more weeks and should be back on the road

Got the R53 back today. no rattle, lighter wallet but all in all very happy to have it back. More pics to follow on other posts as it changes
