loud rattle on start up

2007 mcs started making a loud rattle on start up . It has had a full timing chain kit done in the last 3 weeks . The rattle disappears one warmed up . The garage who done my chain kit are thinking vanos unit but won't know until the look into it further . Anyone any ideas

What I would have said was timing chain/tensioner but as you have had it done ,take it correct grade of oil and filter used ? Hope you get to the bottom of it

Assured it was 0w30 that they put in

0w30 oil is the correct one for your car.
Are you sure it's the timing chain that's rattling ? the R56 is a little noisy on start up sometimes ...

Shouldn't be chain as just been done . This rattle is way more than a little noisy m8 got to be heard to believed lol . I did video it when I was at Airth . Similar to chain in the sense that once warm it disappeared
