Hi is it possible to change the clutch through the wheel arch ? I had my other r53 clutch changed by taking the front end off and dropping the sub frame most bolts were seized is there an easier option please ?

My garage removed the engine :) but then again it was geting all new pulleys at the same time

Ive never tried to do one out the side. Not sure if it would be possible.
I drop the sub frame down with the power steering rack, motor and bottles all attached to it, arms still attached etc. Doesnt take long to drop it out.
Prob the engine up in place with a gear box stand then bring the box out.
Last one I done took 4hrs all in.

Just out curiosity but whats the book time to do a clutxh on the cooper s 56?

I removed my engine to do mine, I've dropped the subframe on others to get the clutch changed but on a mini with a 5 speed you can do it without doing either lol can pull the box to the side to get access

Got to say I think it'll be a massive task to try and do it through the wheel arch ...
