Well I must have the bug for them after my Mini one I had a few years ago I am now back with a 07 R56 Cooper s Lazer blue with pretty much every option ticked on the checklist including some nice big 4 Pot Brembos
Travelled all the way down to Nottingham form Perth to go and get it and everything seemed fine. Now home everything is cropping up and wondered if someone maybe shed some advice on this if possible.
A couple of days ago it started when coming off the motorway into a slow town and the amber Coolant temp light came on. Checked coolant and was just below the minimum so topped up and all seemed fine , then when going on the motorway again about 30 mins into the journey the car flashed the red temp light completely skipping the amber one, so pulled into the services and there was nothing in the expansion tank. So I topped this up with water continued the journey covered another 300 miles no issues.
Next day I go to check the coolant and the tank is empty again after topping up the night before however there is no coolant on the floor. So top this up again I go maybe 3 miles stop start town and then back home tank is empty again.
Basically the trend following is longer motorway journeys it keeps the water in stop/start town stuff the water/coolant disappears but never on the floor when parked or such.
Tonight when I have checked there is a slight mayo under the oil cap that hasn't been there before and before today it must be close to 5 or 6 litres of water that I have put in the car,
So getting slightly worried now as this sounds a but like Head gasket issues (come from a long line of Mg's and rovers so very used to this) I hope it isn't but when looking at R56 three doesn't seems to be much on HGF unless I am not looking in the right sections
Looking to see if anyone has something similar or can offer advice on this or if this is what I am dreading
Also in-between all this the DSC is coming on almost every journey
