Machine Polishing

I am thinking of trying out machine polishing myself, but having never done it before does anyone know if there are any course out there to learn from?

There's nothing that you wouldn't be able to do yourself to start with. Having been on two courses and a wet sanding course too it's not difficult when you get the hang of it. The key to it all is taking your time and trying where possible to keep checking your work. What machine and polish are you looking at ? What are you looking to polish ? I'm happy to point you in the right direction but consider getting a scrap panel to practise with.

Was hoping to look at fixing swirls but having viewed the Golf bonnet today the stone chip I collected earlier seems more concerning.

I had never used a machine polisher until I bought a Das 6 Pro.
Once you get over your initial nerves and start using it you'll want to polish every car within 20 miles !!!
It is honestly easier than you would ever dream of.
You just use the weight of the machine and let the pad and polish do all the work.

Totally agree Pete - I recently purchased a DAS machine and love the results so far and I'm just a novice. Once you get over your fears (less so with a DAS) it is a satisfying way to get great results. Although I must confess to still enjoying the traditional method :thumbs up:
