Scottish Car Show 17th July 2016

[MINI William]

There has been a lot of interest in NMS attending this year Scottish Car Show, so let's get started.

NMS will be attending the show being held at the Royal Highland Centre again and we will be having our usual BBQ (Goes without saying really).

As always everyone is welcome, if you haven't been to a show with NMS get along to this as its local and catch the show bug. Its not about the cars but about the day as a whole.

Booking forms are being sent out to organisers next week, but I have conformation of ticket prices. It will be £10 per car and driver and £10 for passengers up until early booking comes to a close the first week in March. Can I ask that everyone has their money to me by Monday 7th March 2016 *PLEASE NOTE THAT MONEY IN NONREFUNDABLE*. This will then allow me to book in plenty time and ensure that we have a good pitch and also get in for the lower price.

I've had an email from SCS organisers who need the following information of each and every car attending the show. Cars without this information will not be allowed entry to the show. Can everyone please PM me the following details. No later than Monday please.

The plan for this years SCS is to try and miss the horrendous queues that we had last year. Can we please meet at Hermiston Gate at 7am to leave for the show at 715am this should hopefully mean we will miss the queue to get in and get in, cars done and set up ready to enjoy the rest of the day.

Tickets and entry passes will be given out at Hermiston Gate.

As always clubs must enter together and no single entries will be allowed by SCS organisers. Therefore I must stress that if you are not at Hermiston Gate in time you will be left behind and not allowed entry to the show. This is the same as each year with SCS. If you experience any problems on the morning of the show can you please let me know ASAP and I can see what can be done.

Is it a bit of a free for all and a first come first served as far a getting outside space is concerned? Or do you tell them it's 23 cars all from NMS and they say where to pitch up?

We tell them how many cars and tents ect and they will allocat a pitch for us it's a cracking day out great banter and grub :)

From my experience last year, a pitch will be marked out for us. We all meet at a retail park 5 minutes away and roll in together. Was fairly easy!

We let the organisers know how many cars we have attending and we will have a pitch allocated to us that should fit the cars and gazebo. On the day we will then be directed to our pitch. We will meet at Hermiston Gate (time to be confirmed) on the morning off and convoy to the show ground. We have it done to a pretty fine art by now

I can bring the large cool box again with lots of Powerade/Lucozade Sport type drinks for those that aren't fond of normal style soft drinks.

As usual we will be going out for an Indian meal on the Saturday night before the show ,if you would like to go please just put your name down ,so far we are at 8 people attending dinner,
and on the Sunday after the show we will be going out for an Italian or Chinese meal and the numbers for that so far are the same at 8 people ,always a great chance to talk about what has gone on at the show and unwind .all the restaurants are in or near Loanhead

The plan for this years SCS is to try and miss the horrendous queues that we had last year. Can we please meet at Hermiston Gate at 7am to leave for the show at 715am this should hopefully mean we will miss the queue to get in and get in, cars done and set up ready to enjoy the rest of the day.

Tickets and entry passes will be given out at Hermiston Gate.

As always clubs must enter together and no single entries will be allowed by SCS organisers. Therefore I must stress that if you are not at Hermiston Gate in time you will be left behind and not allowed entry to the show. This is the same as each year with SCS. If you experience any problems on the morning of the show can you please let me know ASAP and I can see what can be done.

For the 3 reserves. We have enough car stand passes for all 3 of you to gain entry on the day. But you will need to buy driver wrist bands on the day at the cost of £20 plus any passengers. Can you let me know if you wish to attend and if so please send me the details required.

You can have your car on the stand. But you will need to buy an entry wrist band while driving your car into the show at the gate.

Ross, these details where requested on the 9th of July when I received notification that they where required, there were also several reminders to this. Your correct that details where to be submitted to SCS by 11 yesterday. But with myself getting married this week (which you have acknowledged in your PM to me today)and all admins where in attendance to this, I required all details by Monday night with was extended until 11am on Tuesday for the 2 that had not submitted details to me in time. With the extension only then did I PM both of those that where late in getting details to me. This was so I could deal with my wedding and enjoy the event without needing to submit details.

All details where submitted to a private link for organisers to collate information and then input the information onto the SCS website. Not for everyone to access and input info to.

All admins have full time jobs and life's and their sole purpose in life is not to help in the running of NMS as with every single one of us it's a hobbie

If you are attending an event it's your responsibility to check for updates and information for these events. Sadly you only sent me the information 23hrs after the extended cut of time, where I was already en route to my wedding venue where there was little signal and time to check anything.
