Works S v 330CI

Any of you bully bashers out there had a scientific drag race with a bmw 330ci ?

Friend has one before i make an ar*e of myself and try would like to see if others have!....lol

I have a 240 BHP S and a 330Ci :cool:

I would say that my mini is more in your face agressive and would beat my 330 in a straight line, but, the 330 would catch up eventually and most probably beat the mini's top speed.
Can't confirm that as i have never matched them up together ;)

But, get into the twisties and the 330 will be left for dead :p

i was just gonna say what bonnie said, have any worries, do a wee race up a short straight and thru the some tight corners - theres a crazy set of corners out the back stoneheaven way, very sharp uphill and magic!! gets scary when u get mental understeer like- argh!!!

Yes i have the 210bhp one....i know in the twisties that the mini would be gone, something i have found out is that the grip levels are amazing!

Car seems quick in a straight line too, was a porsche boxter behind me on A90 on way out of Aberdeen towards Dundee....we were doing 40mph togethor until national speed limit and mini was always pulling away, even at higher speed when i think we were both pretty much pushing the mini had the legs. I think the boxter was a 2.7 220bhp model so should have been beaten anyway as its much heavier than mini!

Looking at stats on paper 330ci is around 17secs from 0-100MPH...I think new works car must be in mid 16 secs at least...

I think you'll be ok on the straight, on a race track of course, up to the point where he's hacked off cause he can't overtake ;)

i think the boxster S would beat a mini round the corners and would leave any mini standing. They sound awsome inside!

The 2.7 Boxter would be pretty equal with the mini but would take off at higher speeds I would think. The 3.2 boxter S would wipe the floor with a 210 bhp mini, maybe not the 275bhp one though... I've seen the new one on-line and it looks cool http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1376262283872584/

your correct no chance against a 3.2.....

2.7 was easy meat though even at 90-110mph he couldnt pull along side..

back to the 330ci.....anybody with any experience against one?!?

sorry no experience, plus it would leave my wee cooper standing so i wouldnt take it on lol

Did have a guy race me at the lights in a very similarly powered Merc. No chance though ;):cool:

he prob got so pi**ed off!! what i love doing is, creepin up slowly to the lights when there at red in second of the 2 lanes, hopin it goes to amber then bootin it in first lol. looks like there still stopped in the mirror wen ur half way down the road.


Ever been stuck in traffic and u try to beat a car through the traffic, they notice and do the same, the wee traffic psycological game (not sure if thats how u spell it, hehe)

It's good but if I lose I always smile back at them - so as to make sure they know it's just a bit of fun. If I win they get to see my exhaust ;):evil:

p.s. Mr Plod I only do that on private roads obviously and then dont stop until i reach 144mph, ha ;)
