Mega MINI Meet 2016 19th June 2016

Well folks it's that time of year to start thinking about the coming show season and as such this will be the first show, as usual, that NMS will be attending south of the border in 2016. In order to get things organised for the club stand I'm looking to see who's interested in attending.
The show will be held on Sunday 19th June 2016 and it's our intention to head down on the morning of Saturday 18th and come back after the show finishes (usually around 4pm).
The show is held at Lytham St Anne's and NMS have attended the show for the past few years (even winning best club stand in 2015).
Accommodation has already been arranged (same place as last year) which is just 4 miles away from the venue and it has secure parking.
The only downside is that i will require firstly for you to confirm that you're going and secondly i'm needing a £20 deposit (non refundable) to reserve a room. The cost of the hotel is £75 (same as last year). The balance (£55) will be required on or around the 1st June 2016. The number of rooms is limited so please don't delay, check your diaries and don't be afraid to join in the fun.

The hotel has private parking and more importantly an outside tap so there's no need to worry about you not having a clean car before you head down.

Don't worry if you've never been to a show before there are a number of regular show goers already with their names down and we'll all lend a hand getting the car sorted.

Thanks for organising Davy, looking forward to it already. As Davy has said don't be put off if you've never been to a show before, everyone will help you find your feet. MMM is truly a great show and is the closest show for us south of the border

As Davy and William have both said, if you've never been to show before don't worry everyone will muck in and help out. The weekend is as much about the car show as it is about the night before catching up with friends and making new ones over some good food and a drink.

No I haven't Rob but I can. I asked last year for Daryl and it was cheaper for two rooms than it was for the family room (if it's not taken). I will ask for you though and let you know before I book your room. We are limited on rooms too at the mo as some have already been booked.

I appreciate that the Edinburgh and Glasgow "sides" may want to meet before Abington so that can be arranged between groups. I'll post the meeting point on the first page and any issues please let me know.

:yes nod:Just back home from MMM ,great weekend away brilliant to meet Fergal and Louise ,a trip over to Ireland to meet up and have a run is on the cards .Big thanks to Davy for his organisation skills once again and also to Mom and Dad for the Ba$tRd bingo (the Birley arms did well to keep us all separate from their normal punters) weather was kind to us and a great show once again run by LMR ,if you have never attended a show with NMS this one is not far too go and is set in a brilliant place

Thank you to everyone who came along and made this MMM weekend such a great one. Thanks to Davy for organising the weekend and to The Fossys for organising B@$tard Bingo. Great weather today apart from the rain at the last part of the show and the way up the road. The Birley Arms as always was fantastic and know exactly how to look after us, including ordering extra Bulmers for Pete.

Thanks to everyone for making this a great show as usual, and making Lucy part of the family. This was my second year at this and loved it every single part of it. From start to finish. So glad Davy persuaded me to play b@stard bongo and steal Petes prize, I over the prize, but Petes face was 10x better. How ever the hotel really needs to invest in some blackout blinds as getting woke up by the sun at half 5 in the morning wasn't very pleasant. It definitely caught up with me later on in the day. Was struggling to keep awake. Sadly the show finished early and we headed up the road. The rain was awful at one point when we left Gretna I was struggling to see Davy I front of me. Then to Hear a bmw was trying to cut us off, I had to step up and block him off from undercutting me. Us minis have to stick together. Thanks again, off to bed now. Up early to pack my case for Tenerife . Don't be to jealous mom and dad. ;)

It was a pleasure to organise the trip a massive thanks must go to you all for attending and making it worth while. I know for sure they'll be another 2 or 3 people heading down to MMM next year so those that haven't been before come down and enjoy a relaxing pre show evening with the gang. Yes the weather played its part towards the end of the day but it didn't dampen everyone spirits !
Massive thanks to "mom" for her home baking and keeping everyone in check for the "bingo" (although I'm sure Cat will resume her role as the bingo caller next year) - apparently I was a poor stand in lol.
Ian certainly won the most memorable moment of the weekend taking Petes parcel at the last gasp ... Pete your face was a picture !
A selected few knew about Fergal and Louise's trip over from Cork to join us on the stand (a wee surprise for Pete) and can I along with NMS say a massive thank you for making the effort to join us. You're welcome anytime and as Brian says "of course we'd be interested in an Ireland run" lol. Fergal/Louise it was great to catch up with you both and Fergal you keep looking after it ... Louise maybe realises that you're not as bad as some of us when it comes to cleaning !!
Delighted that our usual GP friends DaveB, T and Hutch all joined us too for the weekend too it was great to see you all ...
Thanks again to everyone who made the weekend what it was and fingers crossed the cars don't take too long to clean after the treacherous drive home ! Still got a few weeks to go before SCS to sort them.
Lastly a big thanks to the staff at The Birley Arms hotel http://www.thebirleyarms.co.uk/contact_birley_arms.htm who as always looked after us. I can recommend the mixed grill if you're struggling to choose from the menu next year !!

I'm finding that my "better" pics are the ones I take when I have no particular shot in mind.
I just wander about looking at different objects and reflections that I like, aim the camera at it and press the shutter button.

The 10-18 lens is a scary beast to use at first but when you get your head around which angle you can/can't use it for the results can be quite pleasing sometimes.

Received an email from Ian today at The Birley Arms saying thank you all for being so polite and "entertaining" over the weekend and for the couple of photos that I sent them for the lounge. The staff loved the atmosphere that NMS created during the stay and wanted me to pass on his thanks and he looks forward to seeing us again next year.
I mentioned the wee problems that you had been brought to my attention during our stay and hopefully they'll be rectified for next years stay
