fault code p2188

R56 mcs Engine light came on earlier after a quick scan it came up with fault code p2188 . Just wondering if this is down to filling it up with optimax or is it something more sinister

I can't see the fuel giving you any issues and the car should easily run on Optimax without an issue. That code relates to a number of things

1.) Leaking Fuel Injector or pressure regulator
2.) High Fuel Pressure
3.) Leak in Exhaust System
4.) Faulty O2 sensor
5.) Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor

Have you reset the light ?

Reset the light . The only things that have been done are fuel change and a new pipercross filter

stick the standard air filter back on to see if it makes any differance

Old filter binned m8 but was only changed a week ago . I got a couple of screenshots from fault reader app but can't get them to upload yet

Looks like it might just be an O2 sensor fault ... I'd reset it and see what happens. Might just be too rich on start up

Was on motorway at 70 when it came on have reset it allready but the screenshots above were taken after I had reset it

Yeah that's def a sensor fault usually pre cat if that's the case. Some cars have thrown up the CEL light due to it being a sustained flow over the sensor. I wouldn't worry about it just now but you could always put a spacer on it if it's a regular problem.
